Early TreatmentTeeth that are properly spaced and aligned are easier to keep healthy and clean. Unfortunately, not many of us are born with perfectly aligned teeth and an ideal bite. Orthodontists Dr. Kenneth Webb and Dr. Audrey Laimins help children and adults who wish to make improvements to their smiles.

Orthodontics is a dental specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of teeth alignment, bite and jaw growth discrepancies. An orthodontist is a dentist who has completed an additional two to three years of education after graduating from dental school, and they receive hands-on clinical experience in treating all types of smile and bite problems.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children be evaluated by an orthodontist by age 7. A child has a good mix of baby and adult teeth at this age, and the bite is established. In most cases, no treatment is needed at this time. Instead, your child is placed in our monitoring program. We will continue to track your child as the teeth erupt, and determine the best time to begin treatment if necessary.

Early Treatment

Orthodontic treatment in our office is convenient for families because all of your child’s dental records are in one location. You also can easily schedule dental and orthodontic appointments together.

In cases where an evaluation by age 7 reveals growth discrepancies that are best addressed at a young age, our orthodontists may recommend interceptive treatment. This type of treatment may include widening the palate to create more space, or promoting or slowing jaw growth to improve the relationship between the upper and lower jaws.

Early treatment often enables your child to avoid more extensive or invasive treatment in the future, such as having adult teeth pulled or undergoing orthognathic (jaw) surgery.

Adult Treatment

It is never to late to improve your smile, and orthodontic treatment can benefit patients of any age. Lots of parents bring their children here for braces and once they see the great results, they inquire about treatment for themselves.

We offer aesthetic treatment options, such as clear and ceramic brackets, and Invisalign®, which is hardly noticeable when the aligners are in place. We also offer Suresmile®, which offers fast, effective treatment and means you can be out of braces in record time.

An orthodontic evaluation is required to determine the best treatment course for children and adults. Please call today if it is time to schedule your child for an initial orthodontic evaluation, or if you want to learn more about treatment for yourself.
